Tsinglan offers an extraordinary array of student life opportunities, including school-day programs in the arts and sports, co-curricular competitions in academic subjects, hands-on afternoon electives, and evening residential life activities. When students do not find a suitable club in a particular area of interest, they can create their own. Experiential learning is an important element of the Tsinglan program, with study trips that range from community service in a mountain village of Yunnan Province to trekking in the deserts of Gansu.  As students get older, activities become more student-directed. In the Upper School, the student body is divided into Houses, which provide an affiliation for every student while promoting community spirit. Activities do not merely provide students with a chance to have fun; activities allow them to create, organize and lead.
